Compounding the gelcoat hull on a Coronado 15 dinghy

I wanted to bring some vibrancy back to the finish of the hull of my recently-purchased Coronado 15. As I received it, the hull was somewhat chalky. I tried a few different automotive cleaning waxes that I had around, then did some internet research and found 3M Heavy Cutting Compound.

I used wool wheels from and a Harbor Freight adjustable polisher.

It may not be back to showroom shine, but it was a big improvement over the initial condition.
